How can faculty help? Volunteer to review for GRFP: traits of compelling proposals. Advise your students; connect students with other GRFP awardees/mentors on your campus. Encourage undergraduates in their senior year. Encourage graduate students in their 1st year. Read eligibility criteria carefully as students may be eligible at different times.

NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program Replaces Encouraging the development and implementation of bold, new, potentially transformative, and scalable models for STEM graduate training Traineeship Track $3,000,000 for up to 5 years Innovations in Graduate Education (IGE) Track $300,000 - $500,000 for 2-3 years Unlike GRFP which are granted to individual student recipients, NRT is intended to benefit a population of STEM graduate students larger than just those receiving an NRT stipend from the institution in comprehensive, evidence-based professional development opportunities that align with high priority, interdisciplinary research areas and workforce needs. There are two tracks, both of which are awarded to institutions, not to individuals.

Traineeship Track: Dedicated to comprehensive training of STEM graduate students in high priority, interdisciplinary areas: Understanding the Brain Innovations at the Nexus of Food, Energy, and Water Systems Any other interdisciplinary theme of national priority Innovations in Graduate Education Track: Targeted test-bed efforts, informed by evidence to produce potentially transformative models for improving graduate education.
