What can you do at home? Give your children the opportunity to color, cut, paste, write, and read at home. Practice Sight words….play games Visit the Library!!!! Great websites to explore~ http://www.abcya.com/ www.starfall.com http://pbskids.org/

Star of the Week When it is your child’s turn to be the Star of the Week he/she will be asked to bring in a poster (I provide), which includes pictures (drawn or printed) to share with the class. Your child should be prepared to talk about and share their pictures! They may also bring in their favorite toy, or book to share with the class along with their estimation jar. Birthdays: Students may not bring in edible favors or party bags. (LCPS policy) We will sing to them and they wear a crown for the day. If sending in invitations for a birthday party, please send one for each classmate. Summer birthdays will be celebrated in June!

Book Orders I may be sending home scholastic book orders about once a month. Optional! Great way to get your child excited about reading.

Communication Email: Kate.Ramos@lcps.org While I rarely have a moment to check email during the day, I will reply as soon as possible. If you have important information, especially a change in dismissal, please send a note in your child’s “Daily Work Folder” or call the school. (703) 957-4390 Also check out Arcola web page and our class page Arcola Elementary

Field Trips In kindergarten, we do not plan on having a field trip. Our day is very short and there is very little time to get to the outing and then back to the school. We DO plan on having guest speakers! If you have any special talents or interests that align with our kindergarten SOLs, please contact me.

Thank you for your time tonight! Before you go, please take a moment to hand in the yellow transportation form and the white Student Profile Form, after making corrections. Our collaboration will be key in creating a successful year. Let the learning and fun begin!
