Frequently asked questions: My student has a long standing problem/diagnosis of “xxxxx.” What do I do? [register with Health and Wellness, send documentation] Can I book an appointment for my son or daughter to see the doctor? [no, we ask that the student book their own appointment] My son or daughter is ill and tells me they are so sick they cannot get to the clinic. What do I do? [tell them to call the clinic, get a friend to take them to the clinic] Where do I get more information about health services? [Google UBCO Health and Wellness….] How should I feel when I leave my son and daughter at UBC O?

Response A: a tough time for all?

Response B: or perhaps not?

Tips for Parents Being lonely or upset is an appropriate response to moving away from home. Stay in touch (don’t always expect an immediate response). Send care packages but be realistic about grades and money. Remind your son or daughter to check with _______ if they run into any type of difficulty. Send care packages. Remember: If you call to book an apt for your son or daughter we will ask the student to call themselves (!!!).
