Linux - computer operating system Linux is one of the most common computer operating system, which is now used in mobilephones, computers, servers, game consoles and supercomputeres Principal author of Linux-kernel was Linus Torvalds (kernel is kind of the heart of the system) Linux was founded, when the kernel was released 1991 Based on Unix operating system from 1970´s Linux is known from free and open source codes, now hundreds of versions on the market, the most common are Android, Ubuntu, Chrome OS New Linux version is normally released by distribution packages, which are based on groups of specified softwares and libraries Linux is the most used system for computer servers. 10 world’s fastest supercomputers are using Linux.
