Hunger and Thirst Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, they will be filled. Thirst Matt 6:33 – Psa 42:1 – Prov 21:21 – Psa 107:9 – Filled John 4:14 – John 7:37-39 – Acts 2:4 – Mala 3:10 – seek first as the deer pants brings life, prosperity, honor fills with good living water living water = Spirit filled with Spirit overflowing blessings

Merciful Blessed are the merciful, they will be shown mercy. Mercy Matt 9:13 – Eph 2:4 – Luke 6:36 – Matt 6:14 – Matt 18:23-35 – James 2:13 – Matt 7:2 – Luke 12:48 – Luke 7:41-43 – God wants mercy God is rich in mercy be merciful like God if we forgive, God forgives mercy not given is not returned mercy for merciful with the same measure to whom much is (for)given great debt

Blessed are the pure in heart, they will see God. Peacemakers Blessed are the peacemakers, they will be called children of God. Peacemakers Psa 37:37 – Luke 6:35 – Rom 12:18 – James 3:18 – John 14:27 – Children Rom 8:14-16 – 1 John 3:10 – Luke 20:36 – peacemaker has a future love your enemies if possible, live at peace reap righteousness we have God’s peace the Spirit leads and testifies children of God do good children of resurrection

Persecuted Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Persecuted Isa 66:5 – 1 Pet 3:14 – James 1:2 – John 15:18 – Acts 5:29 – Kingdom God’s glory and joy suffer is blessed count it all joy hated him first obey god not men Hey, didn’t we already do this one?

Beatitudes poor in spirit – mourners – meek – hunger/thirst – merciful – pure in heart – peacemakers – persecuted – I am not righteous I have sinned I trust the Lord I crave the Lord I am forgiven I see Christ I share God’s peace I’m on the right track Come to God Live like God Hurt like God

Closing Questions How can you express forgiven past as current mercy? What persecution can you count as joy? Who do you need to make peace with? Is there anything that breaks God’s heart, but not yours? What part of your heart needs to be purified?
