WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER (GHS 172) HYMN WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER (GHS 172)

WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER[GHS 172] When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, And time shall be no more, And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair; When the saved of earth shall gather Over on the other shore, And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there. 1. When the roll… is called up yon… der, When the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER[GHS 172] On that bright and cloudless morning When the dead in Christ shall rise, And the glory of His resurrection share; When His chosen ones shall gather To their home beyond the skies, And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there. 2. When the roll… is called up yon… der, When the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

WHEN THE ROLL IS CALLED UP YONDER[GHS 172] Let us labour for the Master From the dawn till setting sun, Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care, Then, when all of life is over, And our work on earth is done, And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there. 3. When the roll… is called up yon… der, When the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there. END OF HYMN

THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES LESSON 645: THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD

LESSON 645: THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES LESSON 645: THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD MEMORY VERSE “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15: 52 TEXT: 1 Corinthians 15: 1 – 58

STUDY SUMMARY Previous study focused on the “Precepts for the use of Spiritual Gifts” Desire Spiritual gifts, but should be exercised in the spirit of charity. Let all things be done unto edification. Let all things be done decently and in order. In our study today, Paul the apostle deals with the subject of the resurrection of the dead He establishes the truth of Christ’s resurrection. True believers will experience transformation at resurrection and will have final victory over death, sin and Satan. The believer is exhorted to remain steadfast, obedient and diligent if he is to partake in this glorious event.

DISCUSSION

QUESTION #1   Why is the doctrine of the resurrection of the dead so important to the Christian faith? 1 Corinthians 15:13 – 20 Romans 10:9.

QUESTION #2   What are the proofs of Christ’s resurrection and the lessons believers can learn from it? 1 Corinthians 15:3,4. Matthew 28:5 – 7. 2 Timothy 1:10

QUESTION #3   From our text, enumerate the logical consequences of denying the resurrection of the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:13, 15-17, 19

With what body form shall believers inherit the kingdom of God? QUESTION #4 With what body form shall believers inherit the kingdom of God? 1 Corinthians 15:40-44, 50-52

QUESTION #5  What encouragement and challenge can believers receive from the truth about the resurrection of the dead? 1 John 3:2,3. 1 Corinthians 15:58.

CONCLUSION Jesus is the first fruit of the dead who rose from the grave. True believers will also experience the resurrection someday. The hope of resurrection should be every believer’s ultimate reason for continuous service for the Lord, and for fighting the good fight of faith. Be steadfast, and hold on to the end, for your glorious reward is imminent!
