Fractions, Decimals & Percents Students will be able to refresh their knowledge on converting between fractions, decimals and percent. They will also be able to determine a percent or value of something in a word problem.
Decimal to Percent Move the decimal 2 places to the RIGHT
Decimal to Fraction Determine what place the decimal goes out to, that will determine the denominator of the fraction. Take the value (numbers) of the decimal and place them in the numerator
Fraction to Decimal Long division See if the denominator can go into 100 If so, multiply numerator and denominator by the same number to get denominator = 100
Fraction to Percent Long division to get the decimal value, then move decimal two to right If denominator can go into 100, do steps to make it so. New numerator is the percent.
Percent to Decimal Move the decimal two to the left
Percent to Fraction Put the percent value over 100 and reduce If there are decimals in the percent, once the value is over 100, move the decimal in the numerator and denominator the same number of times to the right to get a whole number in the numerator.
