Rules and Consequences We will follow the FFES school rules. However, our classroom has a few rules as well: Listen when someone is speaking Always do your best work Raise your hand to speak Follow directions quickly Be a kind friend

Birthdays Celebrate during lunch Cookies, mini cupcakes or donuts are better than the regular size cupcakes. ALL snacks should be free of peanuts or not made in a factory that makes peanut products. Please let be know if you would like to bring in a party treat.

Snacks/Lunch/SNAP acct. PEANUT/NUT FREE within classroom (please check ingredients) Healthy snacks Review lunch menu with your child each day if purchasing hot lunch SNAP acct. help your child learn his/her number (usually a 5-digit number) When sending money please put in envelope or baggie marked with Name/amount/use. Any questions/concerns about accounts should be directed to the cafeteria staff If you do not want your child to go to breakfast please let me know. We have many children who are requesting to go because they see some friends going.

Notes and Early Dismissal If your child misses school a call to the office and a note upon return to school are necessary Early dismissals are sometimes necessary, but should not occur habitually. All time spent within the classroom is important. Please send a note in if you plan an early pick up. If a parent wishes to have someone else pick up his/ her child, we must have a signed note from the parent indicating that we can release the child. Be sure to include your child’s first and last name on the note.

PALS/Math Assessments PALS-Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening- - 3 times a year (October, January and May) http://pals.virginia.edu/ (Parents can go to this website as well for activities to reinforce reading skills.) AMC Math Assessment – On going throughout the year This information from these two major assessments drive my classroom reading/math instruction
