Direction ~ today Director Networks Logical Physical Systems VoIP Server Systems Security Logical – IDS/IPS – DMZ’ing of WiFi; Data Centers, etc Physical – funding model isn’t sustainable; capital funding? Building projects… WiFi/STF? Server Systems – GIT, Puppet, On-Prem vs. Off-prem – storage growth – VM’s for depts. – aging hardware – support for desktop things – support for Apps that are “old” and inefficient for us to support VoIP – Skype for Business – PBX is dying. Skype is our chosen path forward. A couple of false-starts… getting our arms around it now – E911 issues, SIP’s vs. PRI’s – we will be more resilient at the end – long road to tow.
