What We Are Learning: Newsletter-September 25, 2017 Mrs. Graham & Mrs. Gaskins What We Are Learning: Welcome to Taylor County Primary Center at 106 Ingram Ave.! Please add these numbers to your contacts: Office Numbers: 270-465-0449 or 270-465-0450 Attendance Hotline: _________________________ Reading: We do NOT have a story from our reading book this week. We will be reading Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in class. We will review cause/effect, comprehension, and compare/contrast events. We do NOT have a fluency passage for homework this week. Spelling: We will not have a spelling test this week due to the short week. Grammar/Writing: We will be working on the writing process (prewriting, rough draft, revise, edit, publish). Math: Most students are working on place value. Some students are already on addition. Science/Social Studies: We will be learning about weather and the water cycle. We will make a cloud in a jar and rain in a jar this week. Projects: This week we will make a cloud in a jar, and we will make rain in a jar as we study weather and the water cycle. Fall Break: No School September 29 – October 6 World School Milk Day Transportation Changes: Please always send a note if there are afternoon transportation changes. Students panic if they don’t know what to do! World School Milk Day TCPC will celebrate World School Milk Day on Wednesday. Each class will get to see a cow from the Deener farm. It should be a fun experience as students see the connections between farming and the food we consume. We send a big thank you to Jeff Deener for taking time for us! Spelling Words We will not have a spelling test this week due to the short week.
