How Has the Genre Developed Through Time? The genre first became noticed in the late 1930’s where characters only came from comic books. During the great depression and world war two more and more writers began to write comic books mainly due to the fact that it enlightened peoples imaginations. This eventually led to the first superhero film released in 1966, published by DC Comics called “Batman”. Since then the genre has expanded to a more mainstream audience and has made an average of 170 movies. As well since the first movie SFX makeup is more advanced to create a realistic illusion. Additionally technology has improved dramatically allowing explosions and special effects to look more accurate and believable.

My Favourite Film: My favourite film is Captain America Civil War published by the production company Marvel. This is my favourite movie because it is an effortless blend of action and adventure with touches of romance and humour. I feel that this movie can appeal to a variety of people as it includes aspects from a range of genres. I enjoyed this movie so much that I went to see it twice and bought it on DVD the day it came out! It made me laugh and had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. I will recommend this film to anyone.
