TIACA roots date back to 1960 Society of Automotive Engineering Association was organized and registered in 1994 Representing all the major segments of the air cargo and air logistics industry – combination and all-cargo airlines, forwarders, airports, ground handlers, road carriers, customs brokers, logistics companies, shippers, IT companies, aircraft and equipment manufacturers, trade press, and educational institutions
TIACA Mission Networking Knowledge Advocacy TIACA connects all members of the global air cargo supply chain, from the owners of the cargo (shippers or consignees) to integrators, forwarders, airlines, infrastructure providers and all other stakeholders, and promotes the key interests of the industry. We accomplish this by: Networking Providing networking opportunities, organizing and supporting regional and global events. Knowledge Sharing industry views and trends and providing educational opportunities that raise awareness of significant issues; organizing workshops that address them. Advocacy Supporting relevant industry initiatives and advocating with appropriate regulatory bodies to ensure the long-term health, sustainability, effectiveness and efficiency of the air cargo supply chain.

Key Accomplishments WCO/ICAO Founding member of the Joint Working Group on Advance Cargo Information (JWGACI) Succeeded in limiting newly required data elements for cargo to “7+1” Secured commitment from EU to develop proposal for single Advance Data Filing, as opposed to each new member state developing separate systems Held forums to enable industry members to discuss implications of new regulations in open sessions
Key Accomplishments EU/USA Succeeded in postponing expiration of mutual recognition security programs through ongoing negotiations Developed proposed standards for bi-lateral security programs, currently under review
Key Accomplishments Other Ongoing negotiations with ICAO/WCO/DHS/EU/Canada – harmonization of aviation security measures for future Advance Data programs Participation in ongoing ICAO meetings to revise shipper categories in global security programs, to facilitate common security protocols for freighter and passenger aircraft Worked with multiple global regulators to establish platform for standardizing cargo screening equipment, to reduce costs to industry
