In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins… Ephesians 1:7

Forgiven…Forever! Ephesians 1:7-10

Exodus 6:6 "Therefore, say to the Israelites:  'I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.  I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.' "

Matthew 26:27-28 Then He took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.  This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."

I Peter 1:18-19 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver of gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

…through His blood… (a metonymy) Metonymy: A characteristic that stands for the whole. “A change of name” Ex: There were at least five suits on my train going into Denver. Ex: The pen is mightier than the sword.

…forgiveness… a sending away, a release, a letting go, a pardon Ex: Yom Kippur – Day of Atonement

Leviticus 16:21-22 (Aaron) is to lay both hands on the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites - all their sins - and put them on the goat's head.  He shall send the goat away into the desert....The goat will carry on itself all their sins to a solitary place; and the man shall release it in the desert.

Hebrews 10:12, 14 But when this priest (Christ) had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God....because by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

A mystery revealed: Christ over all

Hebrews 2:8-9 In putting everything under Him (Christ), God left nothing that is not subject to Him.  Yet at the present we do not see everything subject to Him.  But we see Jesus...

Philippians 2:10-11 Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Acts 13:38 "Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you."

What are the hindrances to our experiencing a full and freeing forgiveness?
