Lesson 5: Action and Reaction - Newton’s Third Law
Newton’s Third Law of Motion For every action (or force), there is a equal and opposite reaction (or force).
This means that forces occur in pairs. When a baseball player hits the ball, a force is applied to the bat in the direction toward the batter, while a force is applied to the ball in the direction away from the batter.
Discovery Education Video Newton’s Third Law of Motion Newton’s third law of motion states that for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction.
Discovery Education Video Newton’s Third Law of Motion Newton's Laws of Motion explain the movement of objects.
Design a demonstration of Newton’s Third Law of Motion.
Key Questions What is Newton’s Third Law of Motion? Describe an example of this law. What is meant by equal and opposite reaction? Draw a force diagram of a rocket being launched that shows Newton’s third law of motion.
