Adult Education Federal Funding Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA) FY 2017 Total Grant Award $13,097,115 The AEFLA Funding for FY 2017 is a continuation grant. Regional Adult Basic Education and Literacy programs approved through the SY 2012-2013 (FY 2013) competition were eligible to apply for these continuation funds. Integrated English Literacy/ Civics Education is also a continuation grant. FY 2018 will be a competitive grant. Information regarding this grant will be forthcoming. FY 2013 is the competitive grant with the following 5 years as continuation grants through FY 2017
Federal Funding Formula Must use at least 82.5% of grant funds to develop, implement and improve adult education and literacy activities within the state. Must use no more than 20% of the 82.5% for Corrections and Institutions grant. A cap of 5% for administrative costs 12.5% is allocated for State Leadership A required match of 15% of total amount of funds expended for adult education and literacy activities. The entire 15% must be reported each year by September 17th. 82.5% + 5% +12.5%= 100% the 15% match is in addition to the 100% federal funds.

OMEGA Online Management Of Education Grant Awards System (OMEGA) Budget allocations are loaded in OMEGA under object code 0000 The purpose of budget transfers are to reallocate funds the various object codes to ensure spending is in line with budget and grant award. Budget codes are 1000 through 8000 Manual payments vs. Omega. Use of object code depends on your approved budget for your grant.
