MINORITY STUDENT UNION Friday, OCT. 21 meeting

MEMBERSHIP FORMS AND FEES ARE DUE TODAY This is the last day to officially become a member. We will not take anymore fees after today. Make sure we have a membership form (extras have been printed). Be sure to include your t-shirt size. If you have not paid dues you will not be able to participate in activities beyond this point.

T-SHIRTS All new and old members must pay the $20 fee. We will order shirts today and we will be expected to wear them for upcoming events.

LEAD CONFERENCE This is the last day to sign up $5 bus fee-due by Nov. 2. The conference is on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 9am -1pm Lunch will be provided

CAMDEN (TEACH OR TREAT) We all need to make bags to pass out to the students. We want to include school supplies and candy. Those materials are due by Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2016. School supplies include: notebooks, pencils, markers, erasers, glue, crayons, children books, etc. Only students that can drive or carpool with someone can volunteer. Make sure you have a ride. Each member should bring at least 1 supply or bag of candy.

COAT DRIVE for CAMDEN Winter is quickly approaching. So we would like to donate coats to the students. They can be new or used. Each member should donate at least 1 coat. Used coats should NOT have any rips, tears, holes or stubborn stains. Coat drive will be from Oct. 24- Nov. 18 Coats can be for children sizes in pre-K to 5th grade.

MAUE MYSTERY NIGHT- Madison Avenue Upper Elementary Last day to sign up Students will need to arrive at 5pm Students will need to sign in at the front office or front table. They will also need to stay the entire time from 5:30pm-7:30pm IF YOU CAN’T STAY, DON’T COME!

SALVATION ARMY FESTIVAL ON OCT. 29, 2016 Sign up today if you are interested in assisting with the fall festival for Salvation army It is on Oct. 29, 2016 (which is a Saturday) at the Salvation Army off Beasley Rd. in Jackson, MS (North Jackson) They will need assistance with face painting, pony rides, inflatables, etc.

RINGING BELLS FOR SALVATION ARMY Sign up today if you are interested in ringing bells for the Salvation Army We will ring in 2 hour shifts.

DAILY BREAD (THANKSGIVING AND STAMP OUT HUNGER WALK- NOV. 5) For Thanksgiving, we will collect canned vegetables and macaroni and cheese to donate to the food kitchen in Canton. We will collect from Oct. 24-Nov. 11 Each member should donate at least 10 cans or boxes. Sign up to help with the STAMP OUT HUNGER on Nov.5 at Canton Square.

CHRISTMAS AT MCHS AND CAMDEN (TOY DRIVE) Our goal is to provide each child with a Christmas happy for the holidays. (AT CAMDEN) We are also planning on adopting a foster family here at our school for the holidays. We would like to give each child a toy. Search for toys for children ages infant to 5th grade. Each member should donate 1 toy. Gift cards and monetary donations are also acceptable. We will start this from Oct. 24- Dec. 9

NEXT MEETING will be FRIDAY, OCT. 28, 2016 We will start to have meetings weekly as we have so much more to accomplish.
