BACKGROUND Smart Agriculture / Smart Farming/ IoT in Agriculture Application of modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into agriculture, leading to what can be called a Third Green Revolution. 1. Agriculture Management Information Systems (AMIS) 2. Precision Agriculture 3. Agricultural Automation and Robotics

BACKGROUND Smart Agriculture / Smart Farming/ IoT in Agriculture The project is an integration of the existing and envisioned of the agricultural development programs and prospects of the university. It has been planned to support the Philippine Development Plan and to develop technically-skilled manpower to lead the nation for agricultural sustainability and food security. This project will be the showcase of the learning outcomes and training of student interns (OJTs) in Israel as well the faculty and staff who were sent abroad for capability building programs.

TARLAC AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY’S SMART AGRICULTURE PROGRAM: A PLATFORM FOR AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION presenting AUTOMATED GREENHOUSES

PROJECT OVERVIEW TAU is a participating SUC in the Agro-Studies Program abroad, such as On-the-Job training (OJT) in Israel. It is open for all BS Agriculture and BS Agricultural Engineering students. They will stay in Israel for 11 months to gain skills and knowledge in the advanced Israeli agricultural technologies and one of those technologies are the state of the art automated greenhouses After their OJT, those knowledge and experiences are to be shared by the OJT interns by putting up Techno-Demo Projects showcasing Israeli greenhouse technologies.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION: 2018 PROJECT COST Each Fully- Automated Greenhouse is costing 5 Million Pesos (100,000 USD) No. of Units Unit Cost TOTAL Fully-Automated Greenhouse (includes materials, labor and maintenance) 4 100,000 USD 400,000 USD PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION: 2018 This project will show the profitability of greenhouses and promote and yield high value crops such as bell peppers, cabbage, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, honeydew and the like
