Our Mission To implement the reclamation of Egypt’s desert land according to an overarching master-plan, that is seriously honored, preventing ad hoc expansion and settlements into Egypt’s desert land. To create decent job opportunities for Egypt’s youth along the value chains of agricultural production; logistics, marketing, manufacturing, services, etc..

Our Approach Masterplanning: Starting with the clusters having a non-debatable master plan Starting the approach of a master plan with the University of Wageningen and the Dutch consortium led by NAFTC (Netherlands Agro, Food, Agriculture & Technology Centre )

Our Approach To desert land reclamation: Requires Plan, Vision and long-term investments and hard work. Two different bidding mechanisms for Big Investors and Youth & Small Farmers. Integration approach that allows cross benefits to both Big Investors and Small Farmers.

Our Approach To job creation: Unlike cultivation in the Nile Delta that is labor-intensive, cultivation in the desert is mechanized and less labor-intensive. The majority of jobs will be created along the value chains of agricultural production in all types of economic activities; pre and post harvesting, logistics, services, manufacturing, etc ECDC encourages green jobs in fields like recycling, biogas and solar energy.

Our Approach To building sustainable communities: ECDC will facilitate and encourage: entrepreneurship and enterprise creation The settlement of youth in the new regions Observing the highest standards of environmental practices. Observing the social dimension in the new communities.

Obligations to Big Investors Can bid to reclaim 2000+ feddans. Will be responsible for infrastructural work based on guidelines by ECDC. Should create employment opportunities for the youth in agriculture as well as along the value chains of agricultural production. Will be encouraged to engage with the youth and small farmers in contract farming. Their investments will bring along positive externalities to the youth.

Support to youth and small farmers Will be allocated lands in selected regions: close to inhabited areas equipped with water wells Will be helped with housing and living facilities Agreements with agricultural research centers concluded to support youth with agricultural research. Will be provided with training and technical assistance. We are negotiating with banks for financing support

Agreements & MOUs ICBA (International Institute for Biosaline Agriculture ) : MOU under negotiation to establish a branch in MOGHRA to support technically both big investors and small farmers & youth with extension and seedlings as the water salinity ranges between 2000-7000 ppm Wageningen University & Reseach (WUR) within a consrtium led by NAFTC Agreement under negotiations to conduct researches in water quality and sustainability as well as soil classification to be able to make a master plan for the remaining lands of the company other which were not offered in the first phase (1 Million Feddans) AUC – RISE (Research Institute for a Sustainable Environment ) Agreement under negotiation to open a branch of RISE in FARAFRA cluster providing extension and training services to small farmers
