Ohio.gov/portal/census Thank You A brief planning discussion will begin in 10 minutes for agencies currently hosted by the Ohio Server regarding the Server Consolidation Project. It will be somewhat technical in nature. Ohio.gov/portal/census
Server Consolidation Agenda: What does this mean Why are we doing it What we need from you How will this operate
Server Consolidation What does this mean? An effort to bring all web sites and applications to the same operating system version and Oracle database versions. After testing, sites and applications on older versions will be migrated to the more current environment. This does not mean we are changing your look and feel.
Server Consolidation Why are we Consolidating Servers? Currently we have Windows NT and Windows 2000. Oracle on NT and Oracle on AIX. Oracle version 8.04 and 8.17. Benefits: Simplified Environment and Management Reduced Cost Load balancing, higher availability Strategic Agility
Server Consolidation What the Server Project needs from you: Completed application census Confirm primary contact for agency Support and participation during testing Open lines of communication and cooperation with project manager
Server Consolidation How will the consolidation operate? Application Census results compiled Project Plan created with timelines Testing of sites and applications in new environment Migrate live sites to new environment
