Overview Introduction Background Design specifications Design solutions Risk analysis Budget Project management
The G-Force Meter Monitor the g-forces that the sensor experiences Will be done by the use of an accelerometer Works in a single axis Monitor the linear acceleration Two Modes Real Time Peak/Hold
Operating Modes Real Time Mode Peak/Hold Mode Will display the maximum g-force reading over a 15 second interval Also will display the RMS value Peak/Hold Mode Will display and hold the maximum g-force reading while the device is turned on Can be reset by use of a “reset” button
Applications Possible uses include: Calculate simple laboratory measurements In-plant machinery monitoring Shipping and transportation of large and fragile pieces of equipment Size should be comparable to the size of a cell phone Parts cost should be ~$10
Existing Accelerometer Applications Vehicle acceleration, vibration Body acceleration in biology study Machine monitoring, building structure monitoring Step counter Smartphone Image stabilizing
