Use the dashboard for administration Admin-Link: http://walterinkajaani.wordpress.com/admin After logging into your blog, you are presented with the administrative panel shown in this slight. Exploring this panel can help you learn about many of the features available in WordPress. Under the Write menu you'll learn to publish your first article for the world to see. Writing a post involves choosing a title and then adding content into the body of the post. WordPress provides a WYSIWYG editor to make creating and formatting content as simple as possible. Optionally, you can set both categories and tags for the post, which gives the reader metadata to use for searching and finding your post, filtering it, or simply getting some insight into what the post covers. (Newman, A.C.; Thomas, J. G.: Enterprise 2.0 Implementation; S. 209)

Use Posts Establish3 categories Make a post in each category

Example for Categories

Exercise 1 Make your own blog. Generate one first Post Create 3 Categories Use the Appearance for A new template Choose Widgets Choose a picture (without copyright protection) Post the foto in a post. Categories provide broad grouping of posts into topics. The blog is using the default template, called Kubrick. The template determines the color schema and layout of what you have written. You can see the first post is displayed with the blog header, the title, the body, and the tags. This default template is very generic and your next step is to create a personalized look for your blog; one that reflects the ideas and feeling you want for your blog. Selecting a different theme for your blog is also a simple task. WordPress.com offers dozens of themes and there are literally thousands of WordPress themes you can locate by searching Google for the many designers who offer both free and paid themes for you to use an your website. To select a different built-in theme, select Presentation from the WordPress Administrator panel and you will be taken to a screen that allows you to switch the currently active theme. From here you can page through the various themes and select the one that you think represents the blog best. (Newman, A.C.; Thomas, J. G.: Enterprise 2.0 Implementation; S. 209 f.)

Exercise 2 Allow one fellow student to write in your blog as a contributor. Make a comment in the blog of your fellow student Explore the options of WordPress. Which are the best options in your mind? Post your experiences in your own blog.
