Reverence: You Cannot Fake It “…Fear God and give glory to Him…”(Revelation 14:7)

Reverence is a Response His Holy Nature His Awesome Power His Loving Mercy

This is something that we must develop in our lives Either it resides in you—or it does not! Part of us—motivates and drives us “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory…” (Revelation 19:7)

Reverence, respect, piety towards “eusebeia” Reverence, respect, piety towards God, godliness 2 Peter 3:11(Godliness) 1 Timothy 4:7 But reject profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.

“Having a form of godliness but denying its power “Having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (NKJV) 2 Timothy 3:5 “Holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people.” (RSV)

“Holding the form of religion but denying the power of it “Holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people.” (NAS) 2 Timothy 3:5 “They will maintain the outward appearance of religion but have repudiated its power. So avoid people like this.” (NEB)

Form of Religion Only has religion—going to church—all we have is “faithless reverence!” Are we seeking to “lower God” down to us? Take Him off His throne Begin to reason: What I like—God likes (MDR…Music…etc) What makes me happy—makes God happy What I detest—He dislikes.

Romans 1:22,23 Professing to be wise, they became fools, No reverence, no regard, no fear, Make God like us! Romans 1:22,23 Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

Purpose on this earth! Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Fear, Honor, Glorify, Respect Him! 2 Corinthians 5:9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.

Understanding His Power! Psalm 2:11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Then He said, "Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. Moreover He said, "I am the God of your father-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.” Exodus 3:4-6

Manufactured Reverence CHURCH SERVICE

Manufactured Reverence

What are these to a blind man?

Reverence: You Cannot Fake It! “But reject profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.” 1 Timothy 4:7,8

Exercise Yourself! Use God’s “gymnasium”— His Word Don’t train—can’t compete Come to church—outward appearance only

Exercise Towards Reverence

See the Lord on His Throne Isaiah 6:1-3 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory.

Must Begin a Training Regimen Ephesians 3:3-5; 5:17 Hebrews 5:12-14 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Recognize the Need to Sacrifice and take up his cross, and follow Me. Not what I want—He wants Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Matthew 6:33; 13:22

Conclusion Are you indifferent—lifeless heart Rekindle the fire God centered Life a Must!
