kind Define: When you sort something, you are making groups of different kinds. Example: My favorite kind of ice cream is chocolate. Chinese: 種類 Ask: What is your favorite kind of fruit?

house Define: the place where you and your family live Example: My house has three bedrooms. Chinese: 房子 Ask: What is your favorite room in your house?

friends Define: the people you want to play with and spend time with Example: I invited my friends to my birthday party. Chinese: 朋友(複數型) Ask: Who is your best friend?

electricity Define: electricity is what makes machines likes lights, computers, and TVs work. Example: We had no electricity during the typhoon. Chinese: 電力 Ask: What other machines use electricity?

iron Define: a kind of hard metal Example: The jet is made with iron so it is very strong. Chinese: 鐵 Ask: If you were to recycle iron, which bin would you put it in?

sparks Define: the small bits of light that can start a fire Example: The match sparked and then lit the candle. Chinese: 火光,火星(複數型) Ask: What else can make a spark?

key Define: the small piece of metal used to open doors Example: If I do not bring my key with me, I can’t get in my house! Chinese: 鑰匙ㄕ Ask: What else uses a key to open it? ‧
