World Hunger: Another Epidemic! Unit 2 Food and You

What is HUNGER? The uneasy or painful sensation caused by want of food; craving appetite. Also the exhausted condition caused by want of food

Facts 150 million children suffer from malnutrition Everyday 35,000 children die because they didn’t have enough to eat Every year, 11 million children die from a lack of food.

At least ¾ of a billion people suffer from some form of malnutrition. About 50,000 people die each day as a result of malnutrition. 800 million people know what it is like to go to bed hungry. About 200 million children under the age of 5 are underweight.
