About Me This is my 18th year teaching in the Issaquah School District B.A. in Psychology—Human Development Master of Science in Teaching from Shenandoah University 6 years teaching 4th Grade at Sunset Elementary 3 years teaching SAGE (gifted program) at Cougar Ridge and Sunset Elementary This is my 9th year teaching Math at IMS Grew up in Issaquah—went to Sunset, Pine Lake, and Issaquah High School

Student Expectations Be kind Be respectful Be responsible Listen Daily Materials Efficient Use of Time Listen Be a problem-solver! Have fun and challenge yourself! Daily Materials math book math spiral (spiral graph notebook) pencils (hand-held sharpener is good, too) Efficient use of time come in and get started write in planner, math materials on desk, put away binder, start warm-up maximize work time in class—stay on task, start homework Group work: cooperative, inquiry-based model

Academic Grades Summative Tests/Quizzes (no retakes) 65% Check grades on Family Access I update grades regularly. Absences Refer to website for assignments. Handouts / Worksheets are available in the “Extras” bin on the side counter. Summative Tests/Quizzes (no retakes) 65% Formative Homework Quizzes (w/retakes) 20% Class Work/Assignments 10% Assignments/Group Work 5% Absences: make-up memo absent folders homework hotline weekly assignment sheets Family Access absences will result in missed assignments missing assignments show up as zeros and will severely affect grades don’t panic! make-up the work, turn it in/show me, grades will be adjusted

Homework / Math Help Homework answer keys are on the class website Student Planner Class work and Homework are written on the board daily… this goes in the planner and daily heading Math Help Math Help is Tuesdays after school in various math rooms, the sign for Math Help will be posted near the door. Show what SuccessNet looks like Online book Class quizzes—1 week to complete (remediation worksheets also) Additional practice Practice quizzes (students can take the test, check their results, and try again) Vocabulary crossword puzzles
