Facilitating children’s access to art and culture: New club activities in schools in 2016-2018

Most Children have a wide interest in art, culture and sports: one third of children are interested in all or almost all (17/18) fields of art and culture.

Every school can look at its results. All results available for schools, municipalities, organisations, researchers. Every school can look at its results.

Programme’s key project Access to art and culture will be facilitated will support creating new club activities in schools on basis of children’s interests.

In 2016, 92 projects granted with 1,9 Me involving 31 000 children (390 schools) in art and cultural club activities and thousands of children in art education. Financing for 2017-2018: 5,8 Me

Arts vs. social skills Students who participated in music clubs and arts & handcrafts clubs in the grades 3 - 5 or 4 - 6 for at least 1 year had significantly higher social skills than students who did not participate in them. Music clubs Arts and handcrafts
