Today’s Expressions How was the weather yesterday? It was sunny. How is the weather today? It is cloudy. How will the weather be tomorrow? It will be rainy.

We will fold an umbrella. Folding Time We will fold an umbrella.

Things that you will need yellow colored paper Red colored paper blue colored paper tape glue scissors construction paper

Folding an umbrella 1. Put the paper colored side down. Fold it in half to make a triangle and open it up. 2. Fold it in half to make a triangle and open it up. 3. Turn the paper to put the point at the top.

Folding an umbrella 4. Fold the right side to meet in the middle. 5. You can do the same folding on the left side. You will see a white triangle. 6. Put the triangle at the top. Fold down the left top side to meet the bottom line of the white triangle.

Folding an umbrella 7. Fold down the right top side to meet the bottom line of the white triangle. 8. This will be one part of the umbrella. We will do the same folding for the other 2 pieces of colored paper. 9. We will paste the 3 pieces of folded colored paper together.

Folding an umbrella 10. I will put the red folded colored paper in the middle, and then open up the fold. 11. You will see 4 same sized triangles. We will put some glue on back side of the 1st and 4th triangles. 12. Then, paste the yellow and blue triangles on the left and right side.

Folding an umbrella 13. Paste it on the construction paper. We want to make it harder to be able to play with it. 14. Cut around the umbrella with a little bit of a border. 15. Put the straw under the paper using a piece of tape.

Paper Play How is the weather today? It is sunny. Let’s practice today’s expressions with the weather maze. You will see many weather pictures on your way out. You can cross the pictures after saying today’s expressions. Do rock, scissors, and paper to take turns. The winner will start first, and the other person will ask “How is the weather today? If the winner needs to cross the picture of the sun, he or she will say “ It is sunny.” The person who comes out from the weather maze first will win the game. Practice many weather sentences. 
