Main research interest Reinhard Koch Main research interest Combining Graphics and Vision 3D scene reconstruction from images/video/depth object and egomotion tracking multiview and lightfield processing underwater vision Scientific background - 1996: Electrical Engineering, PhD, Hannover, Stereo sequence analysis -1999: PostDoc at K.U.Leuven (group Luc van Gool), 3D reconstruction group, SfM and Multiview processing (with Marc Pollefeys) 1999 - : Kiel University, Computer Science, Multimedia Information Proc.

Recent Research Topics: Multi-object tracking and surface deformation analysis: Utilizing Generative Models and stochastic global optimizers for parameter estimation of dynamic scenes (Analysis by Synthesis with many degrees of freedom) Appearance modeling from lightfields: capture and process large-scale sparse lightfields to extract geometry, motion, reflectivity, and lighting in natural scenes. underwater vision with refractive imaging models: refractive SfM, image enhancement, 3D reconstruction, egomotion tracking, quantitative analysis
