The Levy Who is paying the levy? Can it be used to fund existing employees through apprenticeships? At least ___% of the workforce in public sector bodies in England will have to be apprentices. The Levy- Answers Who is paying the levy? Companies where the payroll bill is over £3m. Can it be used to fund existing employees through apprenticeships? Both existing employees and new recruits over 16 will be eligible for an Apprenticeship. At least 2.3% of the workforce in public sector bodies in England will have to be apprentices. What will be the benefits of an increase in apprentices? Lots!! From increased employee retention to productivity and efficiencies.

Off-The-Job Training The rules state that “Off-the-job training must amount to 20 per cent of the apprentice’s contracted employment hours across the whole apprenticeship.” “The teaching of theory (for example, lectures, role playing, simulation exercises, online learning, manufacturer training). “Practical training; shadowing; mentoring; industry visits and attendance at competitions. Learning support and time spent writing assessments/assignments.”
