Homosexuality

Thesis Statement Three main points on challenges homosexuals are faced with everyday. That homosexuals are thought of as being an abomination (in churches Work Discrimination Public Discrimination

Churches Vs. Homosexuality Although Homosexuals are allowed in some churches today, in general they still don’t believe that it is the way men and women are suppose to be. Leviticus Verse 18:22 it says “You shall not lie with a male as with a women, it is an abomination” saying that a man should not lie with a man and a women shall not lie with a women. Most churches do practice this to its full extent.

Churches Vs. Homosexuals Continued… it also states in the bible for one not to judge. Its not saying that it is right, its saying not to judge them and it is their decision to like/love who the so please. Some people believe that you choose to be gay, some believe it just comes naturally.

Churches Vs. Homosexuals Continued… Gays everyday are discriminated against in different churches and in different ways.

Have you ever thought of it this way, if your way of life that you feel that you belong to is put down constantly and the people who you should be able to depend on doesn’t accept you and says that your way of life is wrong, and it may be. .

You still should not have to treat some one differently because of the sex that someone falls in love with. So when they are put down it makes people want to “stay inside the closet” not tell any one that they do like the same sex. so they are forced into a life of misery

Churches Vs. Homosexuals Continued… To hide your life and everything you believe in could make your life not worth living. So somewhere around 40% of teenagers commit suicide every year do to people making fun of them and not accepting them.

Discrimination in Work or public Anyone can be discriminated against and for any reason whatsoever whether you are a different color, race, too fat, too skinny or just people see you as being different than what they see as being normal.

But in this particular situation the people being discriminated against are homosexuals. Nowadays most people see homosexuals as becoming what society approves of as being “normal”,

Discrimination in Work or public Just because it is normal does it mean that everyone approves or thinks that it is alright. And everyone does have their own beliefs and morals but some should learn to respect the way that other people believe.

Discrimination in Work or public continued…. Gays can now have a right to a fair judgment in work and public situations. There was a Rights act passed in 1996 which says that special rights and privileges to a class of people based on recognized behavior rather than inherent and immutable human traits is wrong.

Homosexuality is not a medical or psychiatric disorder, but is a condition associated with certain medical risks. Homosexuality has long been recognized both in human and animal populations. Despite the relative frequency of homosexuality, it remains misunderstood and controversial to much of society.

gays and lesbians who do not work in these states may go through serious consequences if they come out in the workplace. While many corporations and other organizations have come out with their own policies against workplace discrimination, there is no legal action that gays and lesbians can take if they are the victims of discrimination.

Gays and lesbians have to handle the difficult decision of whether or not they can come out to their coworkers. Although this may not seem like such a big predicament, when you consider that many people spend eight or more hours a day in the office, five days a week, this is a huge amount of time to spend lying to the people around you about who you are. Also, a lot of jobs and careers insist on people to bring their significant others and family members to employee-sponsored events. In these cases, gays and lesbians would be unable to bring their life-partners or adopted children to work-related functions.

A lot of people think that it is ideal to wait for a slow change of policy over time, so that the gay rights movement will persuade employers and other corporations to create anti- discrimination policies on their own. However, this allows the government to turn a blind eye to what is very obviously a question of basic civil rights. Even if you aren’t a gay rights activist or someone who is politically active, it’s imperative to communicate with your senators and congressmen and ensure that they know that comparable rights for gays is an important issue.

The states that have passed anti- discrimination laws include - in addition the District of Columbia - California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. Some states - Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Montana, and Pennsylvania – have laws in place that prohibit discrimination only in public workplaces (federal as opposed to private).

Military In the military they have just passed a law saying that gays can join the military without any discrimination and use to they weren't able to they were afraid that they would be a threat to the other men that were in the military basis with the homosexuals.

In the past years they have started to be more acceptant of gay individuals and other members of that association and that means that gays lesbians and transsexuals can start coming clean to society and stop hiding behind something that they are not and be who they are meant to be with looking back and regretting the final decision the they decided to make

There are three main points on what homosexuals go through each day not very fun in my perspective it s very exhausting and secretive I wouldn’t want to live my life living a big lie WOULD YOU?
