Its ok if you are doing research for a project or if you need the internet. Just always remember if you meet someone online the could potently steal your identity, humiliate you, or even lie to you. Always remember to protect your self online and be aware to the dangers on the internet. Friend or Foe? Top 5 Dangers online 1.Cyberbulling 2. Internet strangers 3.Information theft 4.Damaging software 5.Disturbing content or images

Exercising your cyber-sense This is a cyber survey to see what you will do in this situation. - Somebody random askes if they can have your phone number. What will you do? Say no Say yes - You decide to check your email and you see a random persons email there what do you do? Answer it Don’t answer it You found out your friends are making a group online you join that group and see that they are talking bad about other students. What will you do? Tell a Adult Don’t worry about it

Protecting yourself from the dark side of the internet Unlike a dark alley in a bad part of town, identifying the internet’s dark side can be a lot more difficult. Know where the dark side hides and use your cyber sense to stay in the light. Your parents probably told you about stranger danger when you were a kid ,right? Well that rule still applies now of days ,too. Never talk to strangers on the street or in a car, Don’t let it happen to you.

Harassment, Threats, Blackmail, and intimidation are illegal. Ask an adult to contact the police. The fear of police involvement might be just what the bully needs to get to the point that what he or she is doing WRONG!

Becoming respectful internet citizens The Internet is its own world. It has its own rules, language, and what kind of expectations of how you act. You are a citizen of this world. What kind of citizen are you? -The Observer -The Alter-Ego -The Follower -The Super-Citizen

Using the internet responsibly If you don’t use the internet wisely you will 2 consequences: #1 Your Embarrassment #2 Your Reputation When you google your self what comes up? Anything embarrassing, well if not keep it that way! When you are posting stuff about yourself, it is your own history. Make sure it’s not a history that you will be ashamed of!

AND ALWAYS remember…
