She put her ideas to test while working with slum children in 1907. She created a learning environment through her approach called the "Montessori methods".

Dr S.Selvakuamr's carrier in education spans over 17 years. He has taught from preschool to B.Ed trainees in India. Selevakumar established several successful schools in India. He received his Master's in Zoology (M.Sc) Master of Education (M.Ed)  and Diploma in Montessori Education and he has been Awarded  with Doctoral degree in education  Ph D From the  University of Mysore India. In 2001 Selvakumar founded Alpha National Montessori School (ANMS) preschool to grade 7 In 2003 he founded international Montessori Kindergarten And Training Academy (IMKTA) which provides Montessori teacher education that is recognized through out india and abroad.Selva Kumar is a member of associations Montessori international Amsterdam neitherland. and was join secretary of Indian association of preschool education(IAPE)
