Wi-Fi Alliance Non profit organization, formed in 1999, with a growing list of over 300 members dedicated to driving the adoption of a single world wide accepted standard for high speed local area networking

Wi-Fi Alliance: Enabling Wireless LAN Proliferation Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ Based on IEEE 802.11 standards Brings interoperability for enhanced user experience Protects investments and enables industry growth ~3,000 products have been Wi-Fi CERTIFIED in 5yrs 70% increase in certified products in ’03-’04 Eleven independent certification labs in six countries 300+ member companies (www.wi-fi.org)

Outreach and Education: established RF health and science team in Wi-Fi Alliance Formed more than a year ago, over 50 members Chartered to: provide member awareness of latest science, standards and news Promote public awareness

Public Awareness efforts Brochure on Wi-Fi and health developed with MMF Supported independent exposure assessment of Wi-Fi (RADIOFREQUENCY EXPOSURE FROM WIRELESS LANS UTILIZING WI-FI TECHNOLOGY; Kenneth R. Foster, Health Physics Journal, March 2007, Volume 92, No.3) Participation in other RF safety forums and conferences Cooperate with government policy makers and other industry organizations such as the MMF, WiMAX forum, and GSM association.
