SAFETY FEATURES INSTALLED IN VARIOUS MINING EQUIPMENT IN OUR MINES Various type of Brake in dumper : Service brake, Retarder brake, dump brake, emergency brake ROPS Cabin in all equipment Anti collision device in dumper Emergency steering system (electronics) for dumper. PLMS ( Pay Load Monitoring System). Auto retarder system used to avoid over speed. AFSS (Auto Fire Suppression System) for all equipment. 2

Auto deeper system in dumper. Rear view camera fitted in dumper, whose display is fitted inside the operator’s cabin. Auto deeper system in dumper. Steering lock system (Mechanical) in dumper. Blind spot mirror. Proximity switch in dumper to protect bucket hoist cylinder and dump body. Rock ejectors to protect tyres from boulder. Four ST relay to protect self motor of dumper. 3

Reverse back up alarm installed in all the equipment. Radium highlighters fitted on all sides of dumper. Wheel stopper (02 number) for all wheel mounted equipment. Operator seat belt in all equipment. Fog lamps. high beam lamps, ladder light etc. fitted. RH rear view mirror, LH rear view fitted in all equipment. 4

Need of SOP/COP for HEMM The number of potential risk in handling mining equipment job depend on the complexity of activity being carried out. Hence there are number of SOP/COP has been formulated for doing such activities for smooth execution. 5

List of HEMM activities whose SOP/COP are being reviewed Arc welding operation Handling of used lube oil in HEMM. Tyre removal and fitting of wheel mounted equipment Procedure for EOT crane operation. Track mounted Dozer’s Track chain link/pin replacement. 6 6
