The Festivals Of China By Elizabeth Bergman

RELIGION and their FESTIVALS Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity and Confucius are religions that are in the country of China. These religions all celebrate different kinds of festivals. Chinese festivals are an important part of Chinese culture and history, both ancient and modern.

Dragon boat festival The Dragon Boat festival date is always the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. This festival has a lot of customs and one of those customs is dragon boat racing. This is one of the most meaningful festivals because it celebrates Qu Yuan, a Chinese poet. The winning boat brings harvest and good luck and health to their land.

LANTERN FESTIVAL Lantern Festival is on the 15th of the lunar month in February or March. It was a great significance because Buddhists monks would light lanterns to worship Buddha. Today the Buddhists hang lanterns of different shapes and sizes in the streets, which welcomes visitors.
