Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center State-of-the-art facility opened in 1997 as a joint endeavor of Market Lubbock, the City of Lubbock, Lubbock ISD and South Plains College One of the first technology centers in the state Lubbock ISD added a 20,113 sq. ft. addition in 2006 to provide 10 additional classrooms and the LISD TV station. Office spaces were converted into two additional classrooms in 2011 Beginning in the 2017-18 school year, South Plains College will relocate to their new facility which provides 25% additional classroom and lab space for LISD to expand current offerings and begin new programs to meet student and employer needs

Culinary Arts Intro and Culinary Arts classes offered at all 4 campuses Remodeled all high school labs into state-of-the-art commercial kitchens with assistance from Helen Jones Foundation More than 600 students currently enrolled in the program Strong partnerships with United and Lubbock Restaurant Association United providing funding, training, internships and student demonstrations: major areas of interest: bakery (cake decorating), meat cutting, and general culinary skills LRA provides scholarships and hosts the Culinary Showcase along with members serving on our advisory committee

Floral Design Partnership with United--providing materials and supplies, demonstrations, jobs for students Students can earn 2 Industry Certifications Students will be prepared to take Master Floral Licensing Exam Internship opportunity with United United is hiring our students at multiple locations

Floral Lab Gutting of 3 office spaces, new floor finish, light fixtures, wall finishes, and plumbing connections-$75,000 Floral Cooler donated by United.
