Writing On the final, you need to write a sentence following a task. The task you need to complete will be selected from previous homework and review ppt. Comparative vs. Superlative An adjective is a word that describes a person, place, or thing. When we compare two ore more people, places, or things, we can use “comparative” and “superlative” adjectives. For example: The yellow dog is fast. The purple dog is faster than the yellow dog. (clue word: THAN) The big red dog is the fastest of all the dogs. (clue word: THE, of ALL- when we compare more than two things)

Comparative vs. Superlative What are the comparative and superlative of these adjectives? adjective Comparative (two things. Clue word: THAN) superlative(more than two things. Clue word: the____) fat fatter the fattest smart smarter the smartest tall taller the tallest fast faster the fastest pretty prettier the prettiest good better the best

Compare and Contrast Steve and William are twin brothers. When it rains, they both love to go outside and play! Steve loves to jump in the puddle with his rainboots on. William loves to run in the rain with his raincoat on.

Context Clues Context clues are clues from the story that help you understand the story. We can use context clues to help us understand the meaning of a new word. For example: Dr. Seuss wrote funny books for kids to enjoy. His stories help kids get in a silly mood. Clues: funny books, kids enjoy, kids get in a silly_____. I can use a different word to go in the blank and the sentence will have the same meaning. Silly happy? Silly hat? Silly feeling? So the word must mean “feeling.”
