CDEP Goal Goal: Activity: Leaders: Use resources to create a comprehensive plan to ensure the physical and social well-being of staff and students. Activity: Implement the Olweus Program with fidelity. Assess student perceptions every other year to measure reduction in bullying behaviors. Leaders: District trainers BPCC members

CDEP Goal Timeline: Present – 2015 Professional Development: Cost: On-going training of new staff including bus drivers, cafeteria staff, SRPs, teachers, coaches and administrators. Continue to educate parents and the community to raise awareness and support for the tenets of the program. Cost: Student Questionnaire: $5,500. Additional trainer: $6,000.

Next Steps BPCCs will analyze the 2014 questionnaire results Schools will focus efforts on “hot spots” Continue implementation of the Peaceful School Bus program at elementary schools Continue to enhance classroom meetings to expand focus on character education

Orchard Park CSD as a model in Western New York Olweus implemented district-wide in 2010, we have: Trained 400+ educators at the WNY Character Council 2011 & 12 spring and fall conferences Trained 1,090 faculty, staff, and community members including: Members of OPPD, OP Youth Council, OP Town Rec, Southtowns YMCA, members of our PTO Trained other school districts in the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Tonawanda City Schools Cassadaga Valley Nativity of our Lord, Orchard Park Consulted with 6 other public schools, 1 charter school, and 2 private schools considering this program
