Commitments & Expectations Spring after school practices starting April 25th Mini Cougar Cheer Camp – May 20th Attend summer camp – July 31- Aug 3rd @ Thunder Elite Lock-in @ CSHS – Aug 4th August Practices start 2 weeks before school Events designated by the Coaches

Physicals are only good for one year. Physicals will need to be completed before August 1, 2017 in order to participate. Physicals are only good for one year. There will be a physical offered at CSHS to students who need one on April 26th. The cost is $10. Suggestion: Either get there really early or late, it will be very crowded.

What To Expect Football Season Sell programs at home football games JV & Freshman will cheer their respective “Black” home games on Thursdays JV/FR cheer Homecoming and AMCHS game w/ merits Varsity will cheer home & away games Football playoffs are mandatory for Varsity Sell programs at home football games JV & Freshman Typically sell at 2 Varsity games Fundraiser earning $700-$1000

What To Expect Pep Rallies 4-5 Pep Rallies in the Fall One pep rally is Varsity Only Fall practice Mon/Tue/Wed until 5:30 Volleyball Games JV/FR will cheer Volleyball games Varsity will cheer as available.

What To Expect Basketball Season Seniors do not cheer basketball. Juniors step up and lead! VAR/JV/FR will be broken into mixed squads Basketball playoffs are mandatory for all squads State Bound Teams We will travel to cheer on any teams that go to the state level competition (soccer, baseball, softball, etc)

What To Expect Cheer no more than 2 times per week Uniforms Appearance Washer and Dryer at home Do NOT Dry Clean Appearance When in uniform, all standards apply. No Jewelry, No colored nail polish, Hair all up w/bow. Enforced all year Cheer is a Year Round Commitment

Parent Volunteers We need your help! Please fill out the Parent Volunteer sheet, ranking your top 5 interests. 1 = most interested 5 = least interested We will assign parent volunteers based on these preferences and try to get as many parents their top interests.

Individual Fundraising Little Lamb Cookie Dough Each cheerleader will be credited with 50% of their sales towards their uniform/account balance. All orders and money due to Coach Keough by April 7th. Turn in ALL money collected. We will provide an updated account invoice for each cheerleader letting you know the new credit amount and new balance.

Individual Fundraising Fan Cloth Minimum order of 39 total items needed for production. Each cheerleader will be credited with $3 for each item sold towards their uniform/account balance. Team Fundraising Saturday May 20th – Mini Cougar Cheer Camp MANDATORY for all Cheerleaders We will need parent help that day as well. 80-100 future cheerleaders, ages 5-12. This is our only team fundraiser for the year!!!

Conduct Expectations Cougar cheerleaders/mascot should be aware that in or out of uniform, on or off school grounds, or in cyberspace they are representatives not only of the cheerleading squad but also College Station High School and are expected to act accordingly.

Merits and Demerits Each cheerleader starts with a ZERO balance immediately following tryouts. Previous years balance does not carry over. Merits will be issued at the ratio of 1 merit for 30 minutes of community service. Merits will be offered at the discretion of the coaches. Summer Merit opportunities (tumbling lessons, working out, etc) Cheer Constitution, pages 9-12, list the demerits. It take 5 Merits to erase 1 Demerit. Benched for 1 week with a -10 balance Removed from squad with a -20 balance

Disciplinary Actions The Coach/Sponsor will have the authority to place any member on probation, suspend or drop permanently, any team member for the following reasons: Undesirable conduct, language, or behavior related to inappropriate postings. Uncooperative attitude with the Coach, leadership or other team members. Violation of rules and regulations in the extracurricular handbook. H. Miscellaneous All rules and regulations of the College Station Independent School District Extracurricular and the Student Handbook must be followed. The Coach has the right to change and update the rules and regulations as needed at any time.
