Important because of religious reasons. This is where much of what is written in the Old Testament, New Testament, and Quran took place.

How was Israel Established? On May 14, 1948 the British Mandate over Palestine expired and Israel declared it’s independence. War broke out against Jewish Israel and Arab Palestine people but Israel won.

Why was Israel created? Connection to the land Anti-Semitism – discrimination and prejudice against Jews because the practice the Jewish faith. Zionism – a movement to re-establish the Jewish nation. Holocaust – systematic killing of millions of Jews, gypsies, mentally ill, etc. January 30, 1933 – May 8, 1945
