A diamond poem A diamante poem, or diamond poem, is a style of poetry that is made up of seven lines. The text forms the shape of a diamond A diamante poem takes its name from the shape it makes: a diamond. Diamante poems were introduced in 1969 by Iris Tiedt. There are two common types of this poem: the synonym diamante uses two synonyms as the beginning and ending subject; the antonym diamante uses two antonyms as the beginning and ending subject.

Cinquain cinquain (SIN-cain): an unrhymed poem consisting of five lines arranged in a special way. Line A: One vague or general one-word subject or topic Line B: Two vivid adjectives that describe the topic Line C: Three interesting -ing action verbs that fit the topic Line D: Four-word phrase that captures feeling about the topic Line E: A very specific term that explains Line A

What is an Acrostic Poem? An acrostic poem is a type of poetry where the first, last or other letters in a line spell out a particular word or phrase.
