a Project Board Should … Provide an overview of your project Emphasize succinctly the scope of the project, the nature of the research, and the results Demonstrate your authority as a researcher by the neatness and correctness of the information presented

Type of Display: Origin of Board: Tabletop Freestanding Commercial Self-made

Keep the display simple; avoid clutter. Use two or three colors at most. Choose colors appropriate to the subject. Arrange the information logically. Write your first and last name, teacher’s name, class period, and school year on the back in marker where it can be easily seen.

Title Purpose Analysis Hypothesis Pictures Artifacts Conclusion Phased as a question Hypothesis ‘stand alone’ statement that addresses the purpose question Materials List; include amounts, numbers, sizes, % Procedure numbered list of steps Title Pictures Artifacts Data tables & Graphs must be captioned and credited Analysis Explain data Conclusion Evaluate the hypothesis. Answer the question if possible. Abstract on the official form This is a general layout. Your display should be similar, but may not be exactly the same.

Display considerations The project title should be simple and readable from 2 meters away. For the school fair, do not include any items that are not attached to the display board. Regional fair participants may bring additional display items.

Display considerations Title all data tables and charts Caption and credit graphs and photographs. Do not identify any human participants. Do not include photographs obtained online. Do not include acknowledgements. Do not include the reference page.

Display considerations Do not display… organisms (including plants) preserved vertebrate or invertebrate animals human/animal food human/animal parts or body fluids chemicals or drugs photographs of animals in lab procedures or in distress glass or sharp objects and other items listed in the ISEF Rules. With the exception of animals in distress photos, this list only applies to regional and state fairs.

DO NOT USE GLITTER, SEQUINS, OR SEED BEADS Sparkle if you like, but the sparkle must be imbedded in something. Attach items to display board securely with glue or tape. DO NOT use staples.

remember The project display is a representation of your research report . You do not have to retype everything, just reformat the sections of the report for display.
