Additional Inter-programme Training Material In August 2014, the inter-programme training material was moved to a new Research4Life training portal: http://www.research4life.org/training/ This portal contains material related Research4Life activities such as authorship skills, reference management software, marketing, etc. These modules can be adapted for use at your institution. This page contains a series of Authorship Skills presentations and exercises: How to Read a Scientific Paper, How to Write a Scientific Paper, Copyright & Plagiarism, Strategies for Effective Writing, Web- Bibliography and Frequently Asked Questions. For researchers and post-graduate students, these resources are invaluable. In the web-bibliography, there are links to 75+ useful websites covering all publishing related topics - including Authoraid (www.authoraid.info/en/), a site ‘supporting developing country researchers in publishing their work.’ 10 August 2017
Highlighted in this section are three Reference Management Tools – Mendeley Basic (available to all users), Zotero (open source option) and EndNote Basic – how to access, download and use these resources. Zotero (Open source linked to Firefox web browser) and Mendeley (the basic version) are available to individuals from eligible and non-R4L eligible countries. The presentations review how to download the software and use the numerous options – to create footnotes and develop bibliographies in the multiple formats required by publishers (e.g. APA, Harvard, Vancouver styles). These tools are invaluable to researches and advanced students. 10 August 2017
