Selecting the Right College for You

Guidelines For Applying To A 4-year College Apply to Multiple Campuses. Give yourself options. Find the “Right Fit.” Location, size, majors, sports, cost, atmosphere Know Chances for Admission. Review acceptance rates. Low acceptance rate = Selective/Competitive admissions High acceptance rate = Less competitive admissions Review profile for last years accepted Freshmen. Do your RESEARCH- VERY important!

Reach-Target-Safety Reach Target Safety GPA & SAT/ACT score GPA & SAT/ACT score GPA & SAT/ACT score averages ABOVE yours averages MATCH yours averages ABOVE yours Will make probability Increased chance for High probability of of admission more of a admission admission gamble Consider all factors when Recommend applying to Apply to at least 1 or 2 applying to selective college several “Match” campuses “Safety” campuses Will selective college Some consider a Community overwhelm you or spark College as “Safety” campus your competitive side ?
