SPACE ABUNDANCE FOR HUMANKIND'S NEEDS An American Society for Quality, Riverside California Section 711, Open Discussion led by Bob Krone, Ph.D., ASQ Fellow. Member, President, Kepler Space Institute; and Salena Gregory-Krone, GM-13 (Ret), January 18, 2017 It’s good to be back with ASQ Inland Empire Section 0711

An Informal ASQ711 Evening Discussion Bob & Salena … 10 - 15 Minutes Intro Open Discussion Future Interests? Ideas Unlimited Target ? About Bob and Salena: Salena and I have a 40 year history of friendship and working together. We were married on 1 August 2015, We will keep the presentation to 15 minutes to allow discussion and your inputs. You know me from my 35 years with this Section. All published issues of the Journal of Space Philosophy can be downloaded free at: www.keplerspaceinstitute.com The umbrella focus for today are the two short articles in this journal, that can circulate during the evening. First is the Krone-Thorsness Article on “Space Abundance for Humankind’s Needs” and second is the Bob and Salena Krone article on “ Designing Governance for Humanity’s Survival”. This presentation I’m giving the ASQ711 Riverside Section will be the subject for a feature publication in the forthcoming Spring 2017 Journal of Space Philosophy.

Former President, Medal of Honor Society LEO K. THORSNESS Former President, Medal of Honor Society Here is a montage of Leo Thorsness, one of America’s most distinguished military heros. Leo and I began flying and working together 1n 1954 and we are still collaborating. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

improve and preserve all humanity. We are in a new century with a new US Administration with visions to inspire, improve and preserve all humanity. Long-Term vision to solve humankind’s resource requirements. Science, technology and brainpower in 21st Century can create peaceful human communities in Space. The Law of Space Abundance is proven valid. Limited Resources historically the cause of human conflict and catastrophe. There are human pathologies needing cures. Resources are: Energy, Water, Food, Housing, Health Care, The Arts and Spiritual needs. Our article is probably the shortest in our five year history of the Journal of Space Philosophy. It’s just two pages. This slide lists the seven points we make. As of this date, 18 January, 2017, this proposal has not gone to the Trump Administration. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

improve and preserve all humanity. We are in a new century with a new US Administration with visions to inspire, improve and preserve all humanity. I’ll quickly run through the seven points. Leo Thorsness has called it “A Massive Project.” The Marshall Plan is the best historic model we have. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

improve and preserve all humanity. We are in a new century with a new US Administration with visions to inspire, improve and preserve all humanity. Long-Term vision to solve humankind’s resource requirements. Salena and I are now telling friends that we have a new part-time job …..Saving Humanity.

The science and technology needed to begin it now exist. It will take a global commitment to pursue it. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

Long-Term vision to solve humankind’s resource requirements. Science, technology and brainpower in 21st Century can create peaceful human communities in Space. The Law of Space Abundance is proven valid. I need to say a couple of things about the Law of Space Abundance. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

THE LAW OF SPACE ABUNDANCE* “Space offers unbounded resources to meet human needs” _________________ This is not a legistrated law. It is a natural law of our universe. It was formulated by Kepler Space Institute in 2009, reflecting research over centuries. Here’s what the law states. Note it’s a natural law of the universe, not a legislagted law.

THE LAW OF SPACE ABUNDANCE What Resources? Energy Raw Materials Creativity Intelligence Productivity I’ll just highlight these five categories of resources. The first two are familiar to you all. The next three have not regularly been associated with Space Resources. We can talk about them in the discussion period if you want.

improve and preserve all humanity. We hypothesize that solving Earth’s resource needs will also remove causes of historic human pathology impacts. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

"If we, as a civilization, do not check our aggressive ways, we will be doomed. … Space exploration will ultimately save our species." Stephen Hawking, UK, December 9, 2014 Stephen Hawking cites Aggression as one. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

The Law of Space Abundance is proven valid. Limited Resources historically the cause of human conflict and catastrophe. There are human pathologies needing cures. Historic human pathologies are major obstacles to deal with. Salena’s career has been with discrimination which combined with aggression are two of the most severe. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

THE 2011 INTERNATIONAL SPACE DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE - HUNTSVILLE “The most critical accomplishment for humans to attain in order to successfully create settlements in space….is effective governance.” Governance for Humans in Space has received attention over the past 50 years. We conclude that no governance system Historically on Earth is adequate to employ in Space. Bob Krone, Ph.D.: “Overview Governance” in Sherry Bell and Langdon Morris, Eds., Living in Space: Cultural Dynamics, Opportunities, and Challenges in Permanent Space Habitats,p. 27

Energy from Space will solve that one and most others. The Krones, “Space Abundance,” ASQ711, 18 January 2017

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution “The United States shall be Earth's Global Leader for the capture of abundant Space resources needed by humans For peaceful futures.” And this project is so massive that it may even need a United States Constitutional Amendment to authorize.
