What is a PMP The PMP is the most distinguished and valued credential you can obtain in Project Management, A PMP credential grants a person with a globally recognized designation that serves as the foundation from which they can competently practice as a project manager, leading and directing project tasks. The PMP designation following your name tells everyone that you have a solid foundation of project management knowledge that can be readily applied in the workplace. And you have demonstrated your commitment to the profession. “Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a particular project. Project management is comprised of Five Project Management Process Groups – Initiating Processes, Planning Processes, Executing Processes, Monitoring and Controlling Processes, and Closing Processes – As well as Nine Knowledge Areas.
