Program Goals Prepare students upon successful completion of course work and clinical training to take the certification test to become a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Afford the students an opportunity to have a career upon high school graduation
Program Overview 2 year program Medical Professions I Medical Professions II Includes minimum 40 clinical hours (off-campus) Basha & Perry High Schools 11th and 12th graders
Program Status The programs offered at CUSD High Schools are approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing (AZBN) Clinical facilities are pre-arranged Nursing Assistant Program Manual set Expect clinical rotations to begin October 2017 or January 2018. All required equipment purchased and classroom facility set up accordingly

Program Admission Requirements Successful completion of Medical Professions I Fingerprint clearance card CPR certification for Healthcare Providers* Student and Parent Nursing Assistant Program Agreement form Health and Safety Documentation checklist Verification of medical clearance Verification of physical capabilities Proof of negative drug test result (as required by clinical facilities) * Cost covered by associated course fees – All other fees incurred are students’ responsibility
Student Expectations Excellent attendance Zero Tolerance – behavior, weapons, drugs Minimum grade requirement in order to be eligible to sit for the LNA exam (76% throughout Med Pro II & 76% on Final Exams) Appropriate academic conduct Professional conduct and appearance In-class and out-of-class time required
Clinical requirements Minimum 40 hours Professional attire and appearance Students are required to purchase at least one set of school-colored scrubs prior to clinical rotations Own transportation to/from clinical facility Continue to Fulfill academic requirements Each school has an assigned color: Basha – Hunter Green Perry – Navy Blue
