Presentation transcript:

Dershem’s 5th Grade Blast Calling all Volunteers Fifth Grade Connections What a successful first week. We have been spending time getting to know each other, learning routines, and building our classroom community. We have an amazing group of children in Room 24! This packet is our homework packet. Your child will receive it every Friday and it will not be due until the following Friday. I realize how busy everyone is after school. Therefore, the length of time will allow the students the opportunity to complete the necessary review and practice. The packet will include grammar, spelling, cursive review, comphrension questions, writing prompts, Math Study Links, math facts, etc. Please be sure that your child is prepared every Friday with a completed homework packet. Please also be sure to have your child do their R.A.H. and calendars. which is attached to this packet as well. At times, Mrs. Franks, their social studies teacher, may assign additional homework. Please be sure to review and sign your child’s planner nightly to see any other assignments that may need to be completed. Homework should not take hours to complete! It is not meant to be painful for the students (or parents). If your child is spending an unreasonable amount of time on their nightly work, please be sure to contact me so we can make adjustments. If you are interested and available to volunteer in the classroom on any of the following days Monday- Thursday from 11:30-12:30 Please contact me via email. This will be our literacy block and it is always nice to have additional adults to work with children in the room.
