It combines all the basic elements of professional, clinical nursing with public health and community practice . Acute Nursing is where a patient receives active but short-term treatment for a severe injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery. However services are blurring and with changes in ethos of care closer to home you will work within teams who deliver care in hospital and at home
