PRRO: Assistance to Refugees in Camps Delivery model: Evouchers Delivery Mechanism: SCOPE Card (Value voucher) Fighting Hunger Worldwide WFP Bangladesh provides assistance to 33,000 refugees in the 2 official refugee camps (Nayapara & Kutupalong) since 1992 For 20 years, WFP provided in-kind food distribution of food baskets (consisted of rice, pulses and fortified oil) E-voucher system, termed as ‘FoodCard’ was introduced on August 2014. FoodCards are biometrically coded, using the fingerprint of the cardholders A woman is registered as card holder in each household along with up to two alternates FoodCard acts like a debit card and is recharged every month E-voucher transfer value is determined based on the market prices of a food basket which meets nutrition requirements 18 different food items are available Shops are open six days a week from 9 am to 5 pm Fighting Hunger Worldwide Surveys – SMART done in October to inform SAM/MAM SQUEC for coverage in U & T ACF Gap Analysis of CP partners?

Fighting Hunger Worldwide Enhancing Food Security (EFS) EFS Beneficiaries: 9,600 women participate in Ukhiya (2,300), Teknaf (2,300) and Maaheshkhali (5,000) upazilas in Cox’s Bazar district Including their families nearly 50,000 people will benefit from EFS More than 400 SHGs Each participant will receive the following package: Monthly allowance of USD 13.41 for 21 months to cover essential household needs consumption needs Behaviour Change Communication to improve nutrition knowledge, facilitate women’s empowerment and improve awareness on socio-cultural topics Income generation support including entrepreneurship training, a small business grant (USD 192) and intensive skills training Women’s groups which enable women to support each other, enhance women’s voice and provide a platform for savings Need to mention EFS works with 9,600 women and their households – recognizing that all household members need to be influenced to make decisions about food consumption that optimize nutrition The monthly allowance is to support household consumption needs and ensure that households do not need to resort to negative coping strategies through the life of the project such as reducing food consumption. To this end it is provided monthly. (income generation support) The livelihoods package consists of an asset grant to purchase an asset; training in entrepreneurship and business management. The package will provide HH with a sustainable and diverse source of income which will continue beyond life of the project. SHG is also the main platform for meetings, trainings and all the main project activities and is a sustainable structure beyond the life-span of the this programme. (savings also is a post-programme support mechanism) How does EFS work? Emergency Response – Unconditional Cash Grant (UCG) UCG to 4,420 flood affected ultra-poor households in Cox’s bazar. Assistance in line with JRP (Joint Response Plan) & coordinated with INGOs. Time: Aug-Oct 2015 Delivery model: Cash Account Delivery Mechanism: E-money (Mobile cash transfer mechanism) Package : USD 38.33/month for 3 months Principal participant: Woman Fighting Hunger Worldwide Surveys – SMART done in October to inform SAM/MAM SQUEC for coverage in U & T ACF Gap Analysis of CP partners?
